Decimal Internet Time (DIT) is a proposed timekeeping system that uses a base-10 system with a unified time zone, avoiding the complexities of traditional time zones.
The system uses units of Dek (1/10 of a day), Sim (1/100 of a Dek), and Sec (1/1000 of a Sim), with the reference meridian at -12 UTC, the middle of the Pacific Ocean. DIT aims to provide a simple and accessible time system for people worldwide.
The system allows for ease of use and approximation, with suggested abbreviations and a calendar expansion called StarDIT. StarDIT uses a 10-day week system and a Holocene year, which is the current year plus 10,000.
